Friday, August 4th, 2000. William Shakespeare’s 12th Night was performed in Inwood Hill Park Peninsula, inaugurating the Inwood Shakespeare Festival. The beginning of a new company and the beginning of a new era in the performing arts and culture for Northern Manhattan residents.
Moose Hall Theatre Company in producing the Inwood Shakespeare Festival in partnership with City of New York/Parks & Recreation each summer for the last 17 years, has continued to play a crucial role in the vitality of our community with pioneer productions; accessible FREE public programs of theatre & music in Inwood Hill Park Peninsula, bringing together over 47,000 audience members of all ages and cultures from our wonderful communities of Inwood, Washington Heights, Harlem & beyond. . . and counting.
